What Makes Waterfall Unique

The Waterfall platform inherits and improves the most promising features of Ethereum 2.0. In addition, Waterfall offers significant advantages due to its proprietary consensus protocol, parallelized block production, and the tokenomics model:

  1. High performance – system-scalable DAG-based block structures enable the simultaneous publication of multiple blocks. This forms a DAG and achieves finality for all transactions, provided the blocks do not conflict with one another. Because of this, Waterfall has the potential to process Visa, MasterCard, and Union Pay simultaneously on its primary decentralized layer, even during peak times. In the latest private-network test series, the protocol sustained 128,333 transactions per second over 30 seconds and peaked at 175,000 TPS with 35 blocks per slot on 2-second slots — see Private Network Test 29. By comparison, Visa processed 257.5 billion transactions in fiscal 2025 — approximately 8,200 transactions per second on average. Those runs were performed inside a single datacenter, so a distributed network should be expected to deliver less.
  2. Low transaction fees – the system architecture and tokenomics are designed to keep fees at a minimum in various scenarios. The protocol scales dynamically with the growth of the network load. As long as the entire system’s performance is being expanded, more blocks are published in the same slot simultaneously, and transaction fees are reduced as the system scales. This keeps actions in the transaction pool low, even during peak times.
  3. Predictable entry threshold – becoming a Validator requires a stake of 32,000 WATER, and a single node can run many Validators, so an operator scales by adding Validators rather than infrastructure.
  4. Embedded tokens – release and maintenance of tokens (including NFTs) do not demand special smart contracts, but are carried out as ordinary transactions that significantly reduce overhead charges. This makes their usage more accessible to a wide range of users.

  5. Dynamic adjustment – there are mechanisms to dynamically adapt system parameters, depending on the changing situation. In particular, the slot time, the size of the spray width, the optimal number of Validators, and certain other parameters are adjusted automatically. This approach allows network behavior to achieve self-sustainability throughout its entire lifecycle.
